HR business partner

Advises hospitality operators on people issues: recruitment, retention, employee relations and policy. Hospitality HR has distinct pressures, including high turnover, right to work checks, holiday pay for irregular hours and fair distribution of tips. The best HRBPs know the operation well enough to give practical advice on a busy Saturday.

A real shift

Advising managers on disciplinaries, grievances and absence, and joining hearings where needed. Keeping policies in line with changes such as the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 and ACAS guidance. Regular meetings with ops leaders review turnover, engagement and workforce planning.
