Franchisee

Owns and runs a franchised hospitality outlet under a brand's system. Franchisees pay upfront fees and ongoing royalties in exchange for the brand, training and supply chain. Franchising is not regulated by its own law in the UK, so the British Franchise Association's accreditation and independent legal advice are worth seeking before signing.

A real shift

Running daily operations, managing staff rotas and keeping on top of stock and cash. Regular audits from the franchisor check brand standards and compliance. Multi-site franchisees spend more time on finance and people management than on the floor.
